Preconstruction Surveys

WHEN DO I NEED IT?

New York City Building Code
§ 3309.4.3 Preconstruction Survey

No excavation work to a depth of 5 feet to 10 feet within 10 feet of an adjacent building, or an excavation over 10 feet anywhere on the site shall commence until the person causing an excavation to be made has documented the existing conditions of all adjacent buildings in a preconstruction survey.

Preconstruction surveys assess and document the conditions of the neighboring properties and structures before any work begins. These surveys involve meticulous examination of the structures, and any appurtenances. By conducting preconstruction surveys, projects can mitigate risks from potential lawsuits and claims.

HOW DO I GET IT?

ABC Safety Group will review your construction plans before going out to the site. Our inspectors will have an excellent understanding of the proposed work and how it may affect the neighboring buildings. We will document the conditions by taking in-depth and closeup photos. Our experts ensure a comprehensive and thorough survey that leaves nothing out. Trust us to conduct detailed preconstruction surveys, ensuring your project starts on a solid foundation.

WHAT WILL I RECEIVE?

You will receive a detailed and comprehensive Pre Construction Survey Report. This report will assess every photo in the survey by categorizing and analyzing every crack and any damage found. It will also outline recommendations if any action is necessary. All our reports are reviewed and stamped by our principal Professional Engineer.
