Vibration Monitoring

WHEN DO I NEED IT?

New York City Building Code

§ 3306.12 Monitoring of adjoining structures during demolition

Where a bearing masonry or wood framed building shares a party wall or party foundation with a building that is to undergo a full demolition, a demolition performed in conjunction with work that meets the requirements of Section 101.4.5 of Title 28 of the Administrative Code, a demolition that results in the demolition of more than 50 percent of the gross floor area of the building during the course of work over any 12-month period, or a demolition that results in the removal of one or more floors during the course of work over any 12-month period, such bearing masonry or wood framed building shall be monitored during the demolition operation. If the Monitoring Plan requires vibration monitoring it is crucial that it be done correctly. Monitoring is a significant aspect of construction and industrial projects, ensuring the safety and integrity of structures in proximity to heavy machinery or dynamic operations such as pile driving. By utilizing advanced sensors and monitoring techniques, we assess the vibrations generated during construction, demolition, or industrial processes. These precise measurements help us analyze potential risks to nearby buildings, ensuring they remain within safe limits. Our state-of-the-art vibration monitoring services not only safeguard existing structures but also aid in complying with regulatory standards. With our expertise, you can confidently proceed with your projects, knowing that vibrations are monitored and controlled, maintaining safety and structural stability. In addition, our vibration monitoring solutions allow you to be compliant with current NYC DOB regulations.

HOW DO I GET IT?

Our team will go out to the site and install the vibration monitors as required and outlined by the Monitoring Plan. If there is no power on site, we will connect the monitors to our compact, handy, and IP65 rated batteries. This will ensure the monitors stay powered for 6 weeks at a time. The monitors will continuously monitor any vibrations and provide real-time visual data. With our expertise, you can confidently proceed with your projects, knowing that vibrations are monitored and controlled, maintaining safety and structural stability.

WHAT WILL I RECEIVE?

You will receive detailed reports on a daily/weekly basis, summarizing all vibration activities recorded on each monitor throughout the day. We also have a notification system which will notify project managers, owners, engineers if any thresholds are exceeded. This proactive approach ensures that the proper measures are taken to safeguard the neighboring structures and are compliant with all DOB regulations. All our reports are reviewed and stamped by our principal Professional Engineer.
