General Contractor Registration

To obtain a General Contractor Registration in New York City, applicants must submit their applications online at nyc.gov/dobnow. To qualify, applicants must be at least 18 years old, proficient in English, and possess good moral character. A background investigation is required, and applicants must submit original documentation, including a completed and notarized LIC6 form, proof of EIN, insurance certificates, recent business bank statements, and identification documents. Additional documentation is required for corporations, LLCs, partnerships, and sole proprietors. Once the background investigation is completed and qualifications are met, applicants will receive instructions to obtain their registration card.
